Zeno Baldi
Zeno Baldi (*1988) is an italian composer currently based in Milano. He studied Composition with Klaus Lang (Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst, Graz) and Gabriele Manca (Conservatorio di Milano). He was selected composer for the Session de Composition Voix Nouvelles 2013 (Fondation Royaumont), for ManiFeste Academy 2014 (Ircam, Paris) and joined workshops/lessons with (a.o.) Georg Friedrich Haas, Pierluigi Billone, Beat Furrer, Marco Stroppa, Mauro Lanza. His music has been performed around Europe by instrumental groups and soloists such as Divertimento Ensemble, Ensemble Intercontemporain, Lemanic Modern Ensemble, Klangbox, Ex Novo, Marco Fusi, Domenico Nordio, Juliet Fraser and Jimmy Holliday (Exaudi). His output comprises acoustic/electroacoustic works, and occasional multimedia collaborations. Recent/Upcoming projects include a new piece for clarinetist and tape dedicated to Heather Roche, a new piece for orchestra commissioned by Teatro La Fenice (Venezia), and a collaboration with Viennese contrabassist Manuel Mayr.
