Lula Romero
Lula Romero (María de la Luz Romero Garrido) holds degrees in Composition, Piano, and Art History. She has finished a Master's degree in Composition at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague with Gilius van Bergeijk and Cornelis de Bondt.She has recently been awarded with the GIGA-HERTZ Production prize 2014 by the ZKM | Institute for Music and Acoustics and the SWR EXPERIMENTALSTUDIO, the Kompositionsstipendium 2015 and 2012 and the Berlin–Rheinsberger Kompositionpreis 2011, by the cultural affairs department of the city of Berlin and the grants/residences Künstlerhof Schreyahn 2013 Samtgemeinde Lüchow, Wendland (Germany) and the GEDOK Gastatelier 2012 by the Schleswig-Holstein Government (Germany). She has received the CDMC 2008 composition prize of the Spanish Ministry of Culture for her composition In constant sorrow for ensemble and the Honorable Mention in the Fundación autor – CDMC prize 2010 for piece profil perdu.She lives and works in Berlin.
