Welcoming Amanda Gookin as new Executive Director

MATA is delighted to welcome Amanda Gookin as our new Executive Director! Former cellist and founder of the GRAMMY®-nominated string quartet PUBLIQuartet, Gookin brings with her a strong track record of non-profit work and new music advocacy. In 2015, she founded Forward Music Project, a multimedia solo cello commissioning project dedicated to elevating stories of female empowerment.

On joining MATA, Amanda says "I am honored to carry on MATA's legacy of tireless support for living composers and to join the rest of NYC in reimagining who is creating, who is performing, and who is listening." Gookin will succeed Loren Loiacono as Executive Director effective June 5th, 2021.
