Announcing the 2021-22 MATA Presents Season
Selected from our 2021 Call for Proposals, the MATA Presents 2201-22 season will feature the presentation of four new projects by Elijah J. Thomas, Meaghan Burke, George Tsz-Kwan Lam, and Flannery Cunningham.
Up first on October 30, 2021, is the premiere of a site-specific work, For Harlem, by Elijah J. Thomas. Four installments of his performance will be available for in-person viewing at the Kente Royal Gallery in Harlem, NY. This powerful performance is not to be missed.
Coming up this Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 are a binaural sound installation, a new piece for live performers and Chladni plates, and a soundwalk in Chinatown, Manhattan.

MATA Presents supports projects by early-career composers, sound artists, and other musical creators who would greatly benefit from project funding, marketing, and technical support from MATA. Proposals are selected by an external panel from an annual call for works-in-progress and other innovative projects.
