Marco A. Jimenez (b. 2003); Florida
Marco A. Jimenez was born in 2003 in Miami, Florida. He is a freshman at Columbia and Juilliard as a cross-enrollment student, where he is studying composition under John Corigliano and organ under Paul Jacobs. In addition to organ, Marco also plays the piano and violin. For the past six years, Marco had been studying composition under Hilton Kean Jones, Professor Emeritus at the University of South Florida School of Music. Marco is a commissioned composer, and his compositions have been performed in the United States and have won numerous awards, inc/luding twice receiving Honorable Mention for the ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Award, winning the Pierson Award for the National Federation of Music Clubs, and placing first in the Florida Federation of Music Clubs Junior Composer’s Contest. Additionally, Marco was named a 2020 National YoungArts winner in composition, and TrevCo Music Publishing has published three of his compositions. https://www.marcoajimenez.com
