João Moreira (b. 2004); Portugal

João Moreira was born in 2004, in Lisbon, Portugal. The first real contact with music happened when he attended a metal music concert. Shortly after, he started to learn how to play guitar and when the pandemic hit Portugal (March 2020), João decided to learn theory and composition. In October, he began taking lessons with his mentor David Miguel, at Academia de Música de Telheiras, who guided João in his learning process and took him up to his present level of apprenticeship. João also attended the online course “Contemporary Techniques in Music Composition I”, at Berklee College of Music, with Gabriel Vanoni. Currently, João is working on his portfolio for college applications.
