Haeon Lee (b. 2006); New York
Haeon Lee is a composition major at the Juilliard Pre-College in NYC, currently studying composition with Manuel Sosa. As a composer, her priority is to highlight details that often go unnoticed, often in space or in people, through music. She enjoys the challenge of bridging forms of visual art, written works, and music together through more mathematical and literal connections. Her compositions have been recognized by numerous awards including an honorable mention at the ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Award, 1st place nationally at the NFMC Junior Composers Award, and 1st place at the New York MTNA. She has been a part of the New York Youth Symphony composition program since 2019, as well as the Curtis Young Artist Summer Program and the Young Women Composers Camp. Haeon has also been playing the piano since age 4, performing at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, DiMenna Center, Ernst C. Stiefel Concert Hall.
