Michelle Agnes Magalhaes

Michelle Agnes Magalhaes (b.1979) was born in Campo Grande, Brazil. She holds a Doctorate in music from the University of Sao Paulo (USP, Brazil), and a Master degree from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP, Brazil). Michelle Agnes’ musical formation began on the piano. She started taking lessons at the age of six, in her native city. Since then, the piano played a key role in her development as a musician, improviser and composer. In 2003, after obtaining her bachelor degree in composition, she was awarded the Unesco-Ashberg fellowship for young artists.She is currently working a post-PhD project with the RepMus team (IRCAM, Paris).
