Mauro Lanza
Mauro Lanza (Born 1975 in Venice) studied piano, composition and musicology in his hometown. In 1998/99 he was chosen for the annual course in composition and computer music at the Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique/Musique (IRCAM) in Paris, where has worked as “composer in research” and teacher, active above all in the field of synthesis using physical models and computer-aided composition.His music has been performed in international festivals like the Venice Biennale, Musica (Strasbourg), Gaudeamus Music Week (Amsterdam), MNM (Montréal), Ars Musica (Bruxelles), Tage für Neue Musik (Zürich), Les Musiques (Marseille), Integra (Copenhagen), Ultima (Oslo), Wittener Tage für Neue Kammermusik and Milano Musica.He has worked with the ensembles Court-circuit, Alternance, l’Itinéraire, 2e2m, Divertimento, MusikFabrik, United Berlin, Klangforum, Ascolta, Champs d’Action, Athelas, KNM, InterContemporain, the Neue Vocalsolisten, les percussions de Strasbourg, Arditti quartet, Jack quartet and many others.Since 2004 his work has been published by Ricordi (Universal).He was a fellow of the Civitella Ranieri Foundation (2006), of the Académie de France à Rome (2007/2008) and of the Akademie Schloß Solitude (2009-2010).
