Carlos Gutiérrez Quiroga

Carlos Gutierrez Quiroga (1982, La Paz-Bolivia). Member of the Experimental Orchestra of Indigenous Instruments (OEIN) of Bolivia since 2002. Composer and conductor. He is also one of the teachers of the Musical Initiation Program at the OEIN and his work is also related to creation of new musical instruments, sound objects, and research of Bolivian indigenous music.Creatively, he’s interested in the creation of music as an act(s) where the ritualism is concentrated in a powerful sensory experience which involves sound, image and movement just like in the music of the ancient cultures of Bolivia and seeking this representation through contemporary codes.
