ASCAP's Cia Toscanini will host a workshop on the business of being a composer. The first of two such workshops during this year's festival, this one will focus on the "Do it yourself" approach and will include special guests Scott Winship from New Music USA to discuss grant writing, composer and arts entrepreneurPaola Prestini to discuss fundraising, MATA's own publicist Steven Swartz to discuss getting the word out about your events, Richard Carrick on starting and running your own ensemble, and Sarah Kirkland Snider to discuss recording and releasing your music.
