Qin Yi

Qin Yi, Composer, serves as Lecturer in the Department of Music Engineering at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. She received degrees from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music (Bachelor of Composition and Pipa, Master of Composition, studying with Chen Qiangbin and Qu Xiaosong).

Her works have been performed in numerous venues including International Gaudeamus Music Week, Ars Electronica FESTIVAL, Hong Kong Arts Festival,  Huayi – Chinese Festival of Arts (Singapore), Melbourne Festival, Chinese Composers’ Festival, Shanghai International Festival of Arts, Shanghai International Music Festival, Shanghai eARTS festival, and Beijing Modern International Music Festival.

Recent honors include First Prize in 2006 Tsang-Houei Hsu International Music Composition Competition; Honorary Mention in the 2008 Prix Ars Electronica Digital Music Category; and Second Prize of Composition Competition in “Chinese Music Jin Zhong Award”.

She has current commissions from Shanghai International Electronic Music Week and Les Percussions de Treffort.

In recent years, She has served on the organizing committees of the 1st-3rd Shanghai International Electronic Music Week and the Shanghai eARTS festival.
