For this project, I am looking specifically for members of the Chinese American community who were born in the United States. You do not have to be in New York City, as the interview process will be completed entirely remotely, and each interview will last approximately 10 to 20 minutes. As a thank-you for your contribution, I will credit your participation in the Family Association app and the project’s website, and will also send you an edited copy of your recorded interview for your own use. You can see a sample informed consent and release forms here for the project, as well as a few sample questions below.

Sample questions for an interview:

• Tell me about your background.

• What do you know about your extended family?

• Do you keep in touch with your extended family? / How do you keep in touch with your extended family?

• What do you know about the members of your family who first came to the United States?

• What are you most curious about in regards to your ancestors who first came to the U.S.?

• How would you describe what your legacy might be, for the next generation of Chinese-Americans in the U.S.?

• What will you leave behind to your own children? Or to those who emigrate to the U.S. in the future?
