Call for Submissions for Reading Session

Application Deadline: Midnight, March 24, 2014Do you have a piece lying around that you’ve always wanted to hear?MATA is seeking submissions of unperformed scores from composers under age 40 for a reading session with Finland’s Uusinta Ensemble on Friday, April 18, 2014 in New York City. We accept music of all styles and aesthetics.Works should be scored for the following ensemble or a subset of it:FluteOboeClarinet2 ViolinsViolaCelloPianoA conductor will be available. Electronics and amplification are not available.Please no solos or duos. If your work is accepted, you will be required to provide parts before April 10 and to be present for the reading session in New York City.Please submit links to one score and recording; a one-page resume; and contact information through our website: http://www.matafestival.org. While we realize the absurdity of asking for a recording of an unperformed work, a sonic realization of your score will make our lives much easier: for all its flaws, midi is acceptable.We will only accept digital submissions.
